It's not official yet, but appears to be working its way there.  The Senior Center (at 58 Barre Street in Montpelier), which recently suffered a substantial fire, is going to be renovated.  Sounds as if it's going to be a mix of senior housing/activity area and apartments.

The article in the Times Argus mentions parking as a limiting  factor, but there's a good sized parking lot with the building.  Plus, it's so close to downtown that most occupants could get away with only one (or no) car.

Is this the next stage in the renovation of Barre Street in MontpelierHunger Mountain Co-Op expanded its operations.  River Station condos have sold out.  There have been a couple of other sales on Barre Street recently.  I don't know...but a nice, updated mixed use building right there on Barre Street is certainly going to help.
