This morning, dropping my daughter off at day care, I drove past one of those rural bus stops where moms and dads with coffee in hand stand outside their Subarus and wait for the bus to haul off their kids.  I drive by that everyday.

Today I saw Patrick Leahy there.  I know he lives in Middlesex, but still, it's kind of funny to see your US Senator (and Chair of the Judiciary Committee, thank you very much), hanging out in much the same way as everyone else.  No Subaru, though.

The other funny thing is that I know his granddaughter (she goes to the same day care, and she and my daughter are friends).  So, as I'm driving past the good senator, I gave a respectful wave.  Then, both my daughter and I gave goofy, energetic waves to the little girl.

Yeah, you've got to love Vermont.  Unless I get my blog shut down for hyperlinking to the senator's homepage.  If that happens, then you are released from your obligation to love Vermont.  So, Mr. Leahy, don't shut me down!
